Our speaker for August will be

Sharon Wayner

Sharon is a former Michigan public school teacher who taught during the special education boom of the 90’s. She left her teaching career to stay home with her first child. Her daughter experienced multiple severe vaccine reactions in infancy, which led Sharon to dig deep into vaccine research. She has spent the last five years closely following the science and politics behind the controversy of vaccine-induced neurological disorders.  Her findings have led her to become an advocate for safer vaccines and vaccine policies. She has partnered with Dr. Gary Coller, a clinical metal toxicologist; to educate the public on the controversy surrounding vaccines and autism spectrum disorders. Together the two have educated parents, healthcare professionals and medical students on the controversy and the successful biomedical treatments for children with autism spectrum disorders.

Sharon and Dr. Coller have been influential in Senator Wayne Kuipers and Representative Barb Vanderveen’s decision to introduce legislation to ban thimerosal vaccines in Michigan. Sharon is working aggressively with help from experts around the country to see that children and pregnant women in Michigan will receive only thimerosal-free vaccines. She believes that thimerosal, a known neurotoxin, is the biggest culprit behind the epidemic of autism, ADD, ADHD, learning disorders, and speech and language delayed children filling classrooms in the 1990’s.

Sharon was also a contributor to Unlocking Autism’s successful media campaign in West Michigan this summer. Sharon is a member and supporter of the following vaccine organizations: A-CHAMP, the National Vaccine Information Center and M.O.M.
